Poker Kiwi
Pokerkiwi.com aims to provide New Zealand poker players with an online forum to discuss games, strategies, and any other topics of interest, as well as keeping everyone up-to-date with the latest news and events. Poker Kiwi will also soon be running weekly online poker tournaments with their poker league.
Poker Mafia
The Poker Mafia forum is still growing since this is the new forum that has replaced the previous one, but the graphics are way cool, and the hyperlink style is very user friendly.
Poker Message Board
http://www.poker-message-board.com
Visit the Poker Message Board. The goal of their site is to provide a place where people from around the world can do their favorite thing besides play poker - talk about it! If you have a tip, question, funny story, or are mad about getting the worst bad beat of your life, share it with the group and get advice from other members.
Poker Message Board
http://www.poker-message-board.com
Well attended forum with the majority of the posts focusing on texas holdem which is the lead topic in the general poker category. The strategy category has about four topics that are equally well attended, and the tournament section is definitely a keeper – look for posts from members who have won tourny's and who give their strategy for doing so.
Poker People
Sister site to Poker 101A, this site has a brief home page but is more interested in sending you to the forum. The forum is pretty young but still a good platform for joining with other members and getting passwords for the tournaments they promote.
Poker Pistols
It's all here – reviews of more than 40 online poker rooms, a full complement of strategy articles, rules for all the variants of poker plus special rules for tournaments, TV listings for poker events and many different poker resources like calculators and software. The forum is not huge but the topics are good and the posts helpful, especially in the poker strategy section.
Poker Pots Poker
The forum is primarily designed to collect members, enter them into tournaments (usually freerolls) and encourage them to represent the league in high profile tournaments. The site has fairly good resources for a forum site, with a good number of articles on poker strategy, tips and poker tools. The poker room reviews also list upcoming freeroll tournaments with buy in amounts (if any) and amount of cash prizes.
Poker Scene
Online poker can seem overwhelming if you try to learn everything at once. To help you sort things out, Poker Scene has developed a step by step process so you can compare the benefits from each site and find sites that have the software, support, games and promotions that you like. The site has good reading in addition to the forums, with recent blog posts and up to date news feeds.
Poker Search
http://www.pokersearch.pokerclan.com/forum/pokerclan
The Poker Clan forum is a cooperative effort between OnlinePokerRooms.com and Pokersearch.com. The forum is extensive with subjects on General Poker Topics, Eclectic Poker, Public Forums and General Information.
Poker Sharks
One portion of the forum is set aside for the latest news features which show Yahoo! news search results for 'Poker'. Other forum sections include poker strategy, promotions, and especially password stealing/sharing – seems to be a big concern on this and on some other forums, worth a look to familiarize yourself with the subject.
Poker Source Online
http://www.pokersourceonline.com
As poker forums go, this one has quite a list of resources. The leagues for their members are well organized and tracked, they have plenty of good atricles on poker strategy, complete reviews and ratings of online poker rooms, bios of poker pros – they even review the design and construction of individual poker chips! And the forum is absolutely huge with more than 15,000 posts on the topic of online poker rooms alone.
Poker Talk
I always thought of New Zealanders as non violent, but the featured item on their home page is a promo for “Kill Phil” a poker strategy book with a photo of Phil Helmuth on the cover and a bulls eye and cross hairs targeting his poker chips. The forum is fairly young, but as the sheep learn to type better I'm sure there will be more posts.
Poker Utopia
Aiming to provide poker discussions on a regional level, Poker Utopia has divided their forum into various areas of the US, with other sections for Canada, Europe, Australia and the Far East. The forum also has discussions on hold'em, omaha and stud with sections on poker theory, poker on TV and others.
Poker World Home
http://www.pokerworld-home.com
Somehow the articles on this poker forum seem to have a bit more of a personal feel to them than the standard strategy offerings on many sites. Maybe it's the format, or the fact that you can gain extra insight from the posts that follow the article. The authors are well known and the topics good – check out the poker tutorial by Lou Krieger in particular.
Pokeritis
Strictly a poker forum, the Pokeritis site used to be a sattelite for RGP (rec.gambling.poker) sites, but with enough members to sustain themselves now they have put the bandwidth to their own use. Most of the discussion is on texas holdem strategy, with advice about online poker rooms also attended.
Pokerlair
At Poker Lair you can set up a free poker website for your own home game/poker club or join the site for an existing club in your local area. The listings show home games world wide, mostly USA and UK but also in Australia, Canada, Norway, Costa Rica and Belgium.
PokerPlayer Posse
http://www.pokerplayerposse.com
Poker Player Posse concentrates on the basics of providing quality forum content to their members. They are associated with 20 different online poker rooms and offer promotions and bonuses to their members who play at those sites. League games are also hosted by the forum and statistics kept on the site.
Poway Poker Tour
The Poway Poker Tour was organized in 2004 to provide a friendly place where people could go to play poker in a social atmosphere. Most of the players are from Poway, hence the name, however they have a growing list of players that come from all over San Diego. No one makes money, other than as a player at any of their events. No rakes or fees of any kind are collected. Every dollar of entry fee is paid back to players based on their finishing position.
Pure Poker Forum
Remember the arcade game 'Asteroids'? Well competing against other forum members for high score in this and some other classic [now campy] games is part of the fun at this website. The forum seems lively and familiar, very friendly chatter and advice.
Recent Poker
http://www.lenny1220.proboards34.com
Features are pretty well presented, with each section containing a list of items presented in a table. Articles listed in the index clearly show the authors name which helps you to decide which articles to browse. The forum is also well organized – it is broken down by online card room, which makes it easy to check up on the site where you are plunking down your hard earned money.
Recpoker.com
Participate in the Poker community's oldest and most active group in existence. Stay up to date with the latest in the world of Poker, ask questions and exchange ideas. Extensive forum will be sure to have subjects of interest to you.
Seattle Poker
Seattle Poker lists about 20 brick and mortar card rooms in the Seattle area including hours, number of tables, rake, etc. The forum is arranged into card rooms geographically but then you can also search for home poker games according to the days of the week you want to play.
Side Pot
Another very active forum, almost eleven thousand posts from over 800 members. Incidentals and accessories seem to occupy a large part of the groups conversation on this site with many discussions on poker equipment. The club lounge leads the forum however with topics on just about everything having to do with poker.
Sign Up Swapper
Here's an idea – set up a forum where players can find others to swap referral codes with. That way you can double up on the bonuses by referring each other to different poker sites. Sign up to swap via the forum, or just register on the site and get introduced to potential swap mates.
Students 4 Poker
Students4poker.com is dedicated to Student Poker. Their aim is to provide an environment in which students from across the country can play against each other in a friendly and secure surrounding. Students4poker.com can be played anywhere at anytime, all you need is a computer with internet access. They have joined forces with Party Poker to bring you offers and tournaments just for students – to take advantage of these great offers all you have to do is become a member.
